Boats at the Croatia Boat Show
It's not just for nautical nuts; EVERYONE tries to visit the Croatia Boat Show, held each April for eight days in Split. Croatia's Prime Minister has attended; local celebrities host events; international celebrities trailed by paparazzi peek out from black sunglasses.

The Boat Show is an entire social event swirling around a line-up of magnificent boats. There are parties, dances and lots of fetchingly clad young women draped over the boats. Naturally, there are also regattas and races.

From AAG Big One to Zenit 44, the size, number and class of boats on display is breathtaking. Expect hundreds of luxury yachts, sailing boats and speedboats arrayed in the waters of Split harbour and on land.

Over 120,000 sq meters of space are filled with nearly 1500 exhibitors including the biggest names in yachts and nautical accessories. Some 50,000 visitors from around Europe visit, gape, dream and buy.

Admission to the Boat Show is about 70HRK

Opening hours are from 10am to 7pm, later on the weekend.

Accommodation for the Croatia Boat Show

The show began in 1998 and has now become one of the most important boat shows in the Mediterranean, not to mention a highlight of the Croatian social scene. Hotel space fills up quickly; it's essential to reserve your room well in advance. The Meridien Hotel Lav , the five-star resort hotel in Podstrana, is the address of choice for the swanky set, followed by the new five-star Atrium Hotel. See more on Split hotels and Split private accommodation.

If you can't find space in Split, consider staying in Podstrana, Trogir or Ciovo, all easily accessible from the Boat Show.
