Opatija          

Opatija's highly indented and rocky coast is bordered by a shady promenade, the Lungomare, which extends for 12km to the picturesque village of Lovran. Along the way, there are dozens of secluded coves to stretch out a towel along the rocks and jump into the sea. (See Opatija on a map)

Getting to Opatija

There are no direct boat or ferry connections to Opatija, but it's only 13km west of Rijeka, the starting point for the Jadrolinija coastal route. Local buses connect Opatija to Rijeka and there are frequent intercity buses to Pula, Rovinj and Porec where there are ferries to Italy.
