The Split-Vis car ferry is a vital transportation link between Split and the far-flung island of Vis. It runs daily year-round along with the Split-Hvar-Vis passenger ship which provides another way of accessing Vis Island. As you can see, the schedule makes a day trip impractical but you won't regret an overnight in fascinating Vis Island. If you're on foot, do check out the Split-Hvar-Vis catamaran. By the way, the Split-Vis ferry has been voted one of the world's most beautiful ferry trips.

Booking

The Split-Vis car ferry is run by Jadrolinija. You cannot buy tickets online but there is advance purchase of tickets. You can buy your ticket at a Jadrolinija stall in Vis or in Split. Click here for more information about booking ferries in Croatia.

Coastal Ferry Booking Now Open
Although the coastal ferry schedule has been available for a while, it was awaiting government “confirmation” to make it official.  This happens every year and confirmation never comes before mid-May. So, if you’ve been waiting to book passage for your summer trip, your wait is over. Notice that the ferry runs only twice a week [...]more info

Bari to Dubrovnik Ferry: Azzurraline Out
For years there have been two companies handling the Bari to Dubrovnik ferry route. Azzurraline and Jadrolinija once crowded the Adriatic with their ships ferrying passengers between the two ports, especially during the high season. But now there’s only Jadrolinija. I confirmed with Azzurraline that they are officially out of the running this year. Of [...]more info
