About 30km north of Pag Town on Pag Island, Novalja is a small town and port that is becoming well known among young Croatians for its sizzling summer nightlife. There are a few remains from the Roman settlement but most of the town is quite new. It doesn't have the charm of Pag Town but only a couple of kilometres out of town is the splendid Zrce beach, probably the best in central Dalmatia. During the summer, a bevy of bars serve icy cocktails on the beach while the DJ spins the latest dance beats.
