Dubrovnik Airport Location

Croatia Airlines Bus
Airport Transfer by Bus
Dubrovnik's Airport (DBV) is at Cilipi, 23km southeast of Dubrovnik and about 3km from Cavtat. (Cilipi is in the bottom right corner of the map to the left).

Although relatively small, big plans are afoot for expansion. The size should triple by 2011. (This means that there may be construction underway when you arrive).

As of now, there's one terminal (modernised in 2006) which handles both domestic and international flights.

Airport Parking

There's one parking lot with 200 spaces. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes and then increases at a rate of about 5HRK every two hours thereafter.

 Ground Transport from the Airport

  • By road
You can't get lost. There's only one road to Cavtat and Dubrovnik and that's the E65. Traffic on that one road can get heavy in the summer. You were warned.
  • By taxi
A taxi from the airport to Dubrovnik costs about 250HRK and takes about 1/2 hour, if there's no traffic. Cavtat is only 10 minutes away and much cheaper.
  • Bus To Dubrovnik--Atlas buses meet all scheduled flights for a transfer to Dubrovnik's bus station and leave 90 minutes before flight time for departing flights also from the Dubrovnik bus station. From the bus station there are local buses to the Old Town and Lapad. (see a bus route map). The cost of the airport transfer is 35HRK. There are also local buses from Dubrovnik that stop at the airport on their way down the coast.
  • Bus To Cavtat
There are local buses that stop at the airport on the way to villages along the coast but they are not frequent. See Libertas for the schedules (in Croatian)

Pre-booked Airport Transfer

From the airport to your hotel, count on paying from 200 to 250HRK, depending on the location of your hotel. You may find it more convenient to pre-book your arrival and/or departure transfer with Viator. Here are the advantages of pre-booking your arrival transfer:

  • convenience: a driver will be waiting for you at the gate with your name on a card; no searching for public transportation; no waiting in line for taxis
  • security: no haggling with the taxi driver over fees
  • comfort: groups and families get a larger vehicle; no squeezing into a taxi or obligation to pay for two taxis.
  • flexibility: You can book a transfer to Dubrovnik, Cavtat, Orebic, and Korcula.
